Infront strengthens leading position in Personal & Corporate Fitness with Megamarsch

Acquisition widens Infront's portfolio with non-competitive event format and new target group

Zug, Switzerland – Infront, a leading global sports marketing company, has acquired Megamarsch, a young Germany-based company focused on organising extreme hiking challenges.

Founded in 2016, Megamarsch offers 14 unique events in its core market of Germany. Organised around cities and attractive regions, the hikes span 50/100km and must be completed within 12/24 hours. Megamarsch founders Frederick Hüpkes and Marco Kamischke will continue to lead the company.

Hans-Peter Zurbruegg, Infront Vice President Personal & Corporate Fitness, said: “Infront is the sole global sports marketing group that has a strategic focus on the active lifestyle and personal & corporate fitness sector. Megamarsch, with its established format in Germany, complements perfectly our active lifestyle event portfolio.”

“We see massive potential across Europe and beyond and are looking forward to accelerating Megamarsch's growth via our extensive networks, lengthy expertise and specialised resources,” Zurbruegg added.

The Megamarsch acquisition follows hot on the heels of the acquisition of UK-based Threshold Sports in April.
